“I shall not fall into the falsehood that this day, or any day, is merely another ambiguous and plodding twenty-four hours, but rather a unique event, filled, if I so wish, with worthy potentialities.” - Clyde Kilby's List How easy it is to forget – that every single day matters. Too often, we fall into a pattern of surviving - of going through life on auto-pilot – and lose sight of what it is to fully, intentionally live into our days. This is not to say that every day needs to be extraordinary. No, most of our days will be quite ordinary! But each one is still “a unique event”… and it *matters* that we are alive to them, aware that we have the potential to make new choices, to adjust course, to lean in, to be present. How do you (or might you) remind yourself to live fully into the unique event that is today? What are some of the “worthy potentialities” that come to mind as you read this? Choose not to “plod” through the next twenty-four hours, but instead remain present to the potential of each one – and what God might be inviting you into THIS day.
