Good morning, friends. This week, we’re going to be looking at rest and Sabbath and how we are designed to live into regular rhythms of rest—right in the midst of all that is going on in our lives. It may seem like an odd time to be leaning into “rest”, when many of us are in the process of gearing up for getting into the new school year, and all that comes with that! But perhaps it is exactly times like this that we need the reminder to rest—those times when our rhythms speed up and “work” (however that looks for each of us!) becomes our main focus. The busy times, the stressful times, the times when it makes *absolutely no sense* to pause and lean into rest—perhaps those (these) are exactly the times we need it. How well do you tend to prioritize rest/Sabbath when things are swirling, in your life? Do you have intentional rhythms that you have found to be life-giving? Or do you sometimes sort of forget rest is important, and that you’re human—with all the limitations that entails—and just keep pushing and pushing? How are you sensing an invitation to rest in this season? Is your body telling you that you need it somehow? Your busy, busy mind? What would it look like to choose to rest, even today? What would it require of you—what would you have to let go to make it possible? Let’s lean in to the invitation to rest, together, this week.
