Artistic Afternoons: "We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships. We leap at the flow of the tide and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible, in life as in love, is in growth, in fluidity - in freedom, in the sense that the dancers are free, barely touching as they pass, but partners in the same pattern." - Ann Morrow Lindbergh, Gift from the Sea Allow yourself to join the dance this afternoon. There is the always-moving dance of the Trinity, and you are invited into its rhythms. Turn on some music, if you’d like, and simply notice how your body is wanting to move. Go with whatever comes to you, embodying a responsive prayer that allows for the forward-backward movement that comes with any partnered dance. Notice what you are wanting and express that; imagine what God’s response to you might be in your dance. You may even want to grab a friend or partner to dance with you and actually intentionally interact in ways that could embody God’s heart toward you in this given moment. Whether alone or with another, let the movement within and without mirror each other. Dance your prayer to the vibrations of your soul, in communication with the One loving you in this moment. Trust that however your body wants to move is exactly your prayer, and notice how things shift as you go along. What do you discover along the way, as you move in tandem with the waves of the Spirit within?
