Artistic Afternoon: If, as Annie Dillard says, “How we spend our days is of course how we spend our lives. What we do with this hour and that one is what we are doing,” then let’s discern our hours. What one thing would you like to do this afternoon or later today that will move you towards God’s design of who you are? Or towards experiencing God’s presence, joy, or freedom? Or to act as a co-creator with God in the unfolding of God’s kingdom? A song to play or sing? A poem or blog to write? A picture to draw, paint, collage? A coffee to buy for a friend, or stranger? A generous tip for a wait person? A rock to paint and leave in a park? A call or text to that person you’ve been thinking about? A love letter to someone special? A walk outside to celebrate creation? What do you want to do today?
